2015 Scion FR-S could receive suspension upgrades

The Toyota GT-86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ triplets are still some of the most engaging and affordable driver’s cars, but things might get spiced for 2015.

For 2015, Toyota says it has fitted European-spec GT-86 models with a handful of minor yet effective suspension modifications. According to a report out of AutoGuide, there’s a chance these tweaks could find their way into the Scion FR-S.

The improvements include stiffer mounts for the front suspension and rear shock absorbers, as well as new shocks in the name of reducing friction. They might seem minor, but Toyota says the result will be sharper steering and even less body roll, which aren’t exactly the GT-86′s weaknesses to begin with.

The rest of the changes are purely cosmetic, including two new exterior colours and carbon fibre-like dashboard trim. Unfortunately for those asking for more power, there is no increase in engine output on the horizon.

According to Scion, the changes to the GT-86 are being considered for the FR-S, though there is no word yet on whether the BRZ will see these tweaks when the updated models go on sale this summer.
