A 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT previously owned by Keith Richards is headed to auction. According to World Car Fans, the silver, V6 powered Dino will be offered with no reserve at the Coys auction in Monaco.
But don’t think that the lack of reserve means that it will be featured in one of our $5,000 Kijiji roundups anytime soon. Hagerty lists the value of a 1972 model at $218,000 and this particular Dino’s previous owner can be guaranteed to bring the selling price far beyond that number.
Richards bought the Dino in 1972 and kept it for 14 years until 1986. The car has covered just 25,000 miles in its 42-year life. There was a time when Ferrari purists turned up there noses at these “lesser” Ferraris but just like classic rock music, some things just get better with age.
