This weekend is one of those rare occurrences, like an eclipse or Halley’s Comet, where car events on Vancouver Island outnumber those here in Metro Vancouver.
It is common knowledge that Victoria is the place where old people move … to race, apparently! The capital’s Western Speedway features drag racing on Saturday morning, and later that day the speedway’s 1/4 mile oval action hosts some wheel to wheel racing action.
For mainlanders, Tom The Tireguy’s Mother’s Day Car Show is the place to be on Sunday at his second year at the new location, right beside the Scott Road SkyTrain Station. Making it all the easier for politicians from Vancouver to ride out to see some amazing cars and realize why people love cars so much.
So this weekend, take a kid AND a “Nonna” with you to a car show.
