It’s finally happening — after a seemingly endless stream of promises and delays, Alfa Romeo is finally on a due course to return to North America after Chrysler announced its first batch of official dealerships across the continent.

A total of 86 retailers across the U.S. and Canada will distribute Alfa Romeo’s first offering, the slinky 4C and 4C Launch Edition sports cars. Of the entire batch, 82 of the reatailers will be in the U.S., with the most located in California, Florida and Texas. That leaves four for Canada — two will be in Quebec, while one will be in Vaughan, Ont., and another in Vancouver, B.C.

“Each Alfa Romeo dealer will have a unique staff dedicated to the brand’s premium market clientele,” Peter Grady, Chrysler’s vice president of network development in North America, said in a release. “We anticipate the Alfa Romeo dealer network will exceed 300 franchises in North America.”

Subject to delay after delay, the Alfa Romeo 4C was originally expected in North America last year, but that was postponed until this summer. As a refresher, the 4C delivers 237 horsepower from its turbocharged 1.75-litre four-cylinder engine, but most impressively, tips the scales at roughly 1,000 kg.
