It’s no secret the Jaguar F-Type — be it the coupe or convertible — is one of the most attractive (and best-sounding) cars on the market today. Somehow, Jaguar actually improved upon the F-Type’s merits and introduced a limited-production variant at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June, dubbed the Project 7.
Canadian pricing or availability hasn’t been announced yet, but when the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 hits U.S. dealers next spring, it will do so with a price tag of $165,925. The F-Type Project 7 was inspired by Jaguar’s D-Type race car, which one seven 24 Hours of Le Mans races back in the 1950s.
Penned by Jaguar Land Rover’s new in-house tuning division, Special Vehicle Operations, the F-Type Project 7 is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine. Output has been bumped up to 575 horsepower and Jaguar says it can sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before topping out at 186 miles per hour. The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 will make its North American debut during this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.
