There are some cars you just don’t buy for the fuel economy. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of them.

Complete with a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 under the hood, rated at 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat can achieve 22 miles per gallon on the highway with the eight-speed automatic transmission, as rated by the U.S. EPA.

That highway fuel economy figure is markedly worse than the average fuel-sipping hybrid, but then again, the Challenger Hellcat can shred its rear tires considerably quicker than the average fuel-sipping hybrid.

Paired to the six-speed manual transmission, the Challenger Hellcat’s highway fuel economy figure is cut by one to 21 MPG. City figures, as well as those for the Charger SRT Hellcat, have yet to be released.
