In its push to become a viable luxury vehicle player, Infiniti is taking to this year’s Paris Motor Show with its all-new Q80 Inspiration concept.
Billed as the company’s entry in the flagship luxury sedan market, Infiniti is targeting the likes of the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as well as the Lexus LS and Cadillac’s upcoming range-topping sedan, which doesn’t have a name just yet.
Infiniti has remained tight-lipped on any specific details, but promises the Q80 will be a “no compromise ambassador of driver-centric powertrain and onboard technologies.” That means we’ll likely see a hybrid powertrain designed to strike a balance between performance and efficiency under its incredibly slinky sheet metal.
From tip to tail, the Q80 measures 5,052 millimetres (or 198.9 inches) and rides on 22-inch split five-spoke lightweight alloy wheels. There aren’t any side mirrors in a bid to keep the fastback-style side profile clean.
Infiniti says the doors open in a portal style, fully opening up the cabin and maximizing accessibility. The automaker promises the Q80 will be just as striking, with carbon fibre, aluminum and leather throughout and what it calls “1 + 1 + 1 + 1″ seating.
We’ll bring you full details on the Infiniti Q80 inspiration concept when the Paris Motor Show kicks off next week on October 2.
