Much like the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at last year’s Detroit auto show, one of the biggest reveals for next week’s show is the Corvette Z06. GM has remained tight-lipped about the car’s specs, but we now know that the newest range-topping Vette is getting a V8 with 620 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
The tip comes from our good friends at Jalopnik, where a reader points out that after searching for “2015 Corvette Z06 supercar reveal”, the first result points to the Z06 website with an excerpt that reveals the very valuable information.
GM has addressed the faux-pas, because if you try and replcate the search, the first result has been edited accordingly. As for the engine itself, it’s expected to be GM’s all-new supercharged LT4 V8. Of course, GM hasn’t confirmed the horsepower and torque figures, but it betters the C6 Z06 by some 115 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of toruqe.
Needless to say, any successor GM is planning to the Corvette ZR1 holds much promise. The 2015 Corvette Z06 will be revealed in full in exactly six days.
