Aston Martin Lagonda could be sold worldwide

Earlier this year, Aston Martin unveiled its ridiculously excessive and luxurious Lagonda, a present-day successor to its then-futuristic luxury sedan of the 1970s. There is one catch, however — the current Lagonda is limited to the Middle Eastern market.

Speaking to Top Gear at the Lagonda’s launch in Dubai, Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer says interest in the sedan is ‘extremely high’ across the world.

Hence, the British automaker is reconsidering its original plan on offering the Lagonda exclusively in the Middle East. Europe is the first market that comes to mind, but there’s also a chance we could see the Lagonda in North America should Aston Martin secure another exemption from the U.S. NHTSA due to its low-volume production numbers.

The Lagonda is built on Aston Martin’s VH platform architecture, which underpins every other model in the automaker’s lineup. Power comes from the company’s ubiquitous 6.0-litre V12, while stylistically, the car resembles its predecessor quite closely.
