White was once again the most popular car colour for 2014, says an annual study by PPG Industries, a manufacturer of transportation coatings.
White was up 3 per cent in popularity this year. Black came in second, while grey and silver tied for third most popular car colour. Silver is declining in popularity; its popularity has slipped 7 per cent in the past two years.

In North America, 10 per cent of vehicles were painted in natural hues like golds, beiges, coppers, yellows, oranges and browns. Brown is seeing an increase in popularity on SUVs.
For sports cars, reds, greens and blues were more popular than silvers or greys.
For 2015, PPG forecasts browns and other natural hues will continue to increase in popularity. It says metal tones like rose gold, bronze and pewter will have their moment in the automotive world, just as those hues have been seen in fashion and interior design recently.
