Traffic getting you down? Chrysler has the solution for you: the Ram Mopar Muscle monster truck. Why drive in traffic when you can drive over it?
The gigantic pickup will make its debut during this weekend’s Monster Jam in Detroit. Automaker-backed monster trucks are rare, but Mike Miller, who named his son Hemi, will be driving it for Chrysler. Monster Jam is the first of six events for the Mopar Muscle this year.
The Mopar Muscle is based (albeit loosely) on the 2014 Ram HD. There are a few suspension upgrades here and there, putting it at over 10 feet tall and weighing over 10,000 lbs, according Chrysler. The engine is based on Chrysler’s 7.0-litre 426 Hemi engine, but Hall Brothers Racing bored it out to 9.3 litres and supercharged it to 2,000 horsepower. That’s a lot of power.
