Infiniti’s Q50 Eau Rouge super sedan could be facing a hazy future in terms of being green-lit for production.

According to the Daily Kanban (hat tip to Car and Driver), former Infiniti CEO Johan de Nysschen — who now occupies the top job at Cadillac — used Facebook to call out Infiniti vice president Noboru Tateishi for being the only hitch in the plan to approve the Q50 Eau Rouge for production.

“I’m trying to help my old team by provoking,” de Nysschen said. “They really want, need and deserve that car. But one guy is a bottleneck.”

According to de Nysschen, the Q50 Eau Rouge’s future uncertain to the point where he’s heard a rumour over Tateishi potentially cancelling the car altogether since de Nysschen is “not there to pressure him.”

“Tell any Cadillac or Audi engineer ‘build me a 560-horsepower sports sedan’ and you have to reign them in. At Infiniti, it seems easier to push water uphill.”

At this point, Infiniti has neither confirmed nor denied whether it intends to build or cancel the Q50 Eau Rouge. We’ve crossed paths with the Eau Rouge before and agree not only with de Nysschen, but with seemingly the rest of the automotive world — just build it already, Infiniti.
