Ferrari has officially bid farewell to its normally-aspirated V8 engine with the 488 GTB.
Set to officially debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the 488 GTB is billed as a refreshed version of the 458 Italia.
Under the hood, the one key change lies with its turbocharged 3.9-litre V8. Borrowed from the California T, the 488 GTB produces 660 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, lending it a seriously impressive zero-to-100 km/h time of roughly three seconds.
Beyond the impressive numbers, Ferrari has tuned the 488 GTB in ways to make the power more manageable, including a revised version of the automaker’s stability control system — known as Side Slip Control 2 — that now controls the car’s suspension dampers in hard cornering.
Of course, the Ferrari 488 GTB sees the requisite visual tweaks, including resculpted body panels aimed at improving downforce. We’ll have your first in-person glimpse, along with more details on the 488 GTB when the Geneva Motor Show kicks off on March 3.
