Audi will be making one particular change to the Q7 e-tron when it arrives in North America.
In order to appeal to the different needs of each market, Automotive News says Q7 e-tron models destined for North America and China will utilize a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, which will be teamed to an electric motor.
The European-spec Q7 e-tron, however, will be powered by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 engine. Paired to the electric motor, that particular combination nets a total system output of 373 horsepower and an electric-only driving range of approximately 56 kilometres.
Details over the turbo-four Q7 e-tron are still thin, but Audi development chief Ulrich Hackenberg says the diesel-powered version could still be added to the North American lineup later on.
Audi will launch the European-spec Q7 e-tron in Germany next spring, but exact timing hasn’t yet been announced for other markets.
