Alfa Romeo‘s return to North America is probably one of the biggest automotive teases at this point in time. We’ve heard all about the 4C, and even driven it, and as far as we can tell, it’s a rather lovely sports car and the delays only make us want it more. We’ve even thought about writing an angry letter to Sergio Marchionne about bringing the 4C here sooner (rather than later).
But as with any car of its kind, the real question is, how does the Alfa 4C stack up against the competition? Steve Stutcliffe sets out to answer that very question in Autocar UK‘s latest video. He pits the 4C against its closest competitor and benchmark of mid-engined sports cars, the Porsche Cayman.
He also brought along the Toyota GT-86 (you might know it better as the Scion FR-S), because … well, why not? Stutcliffe says it’s one of the most fun driver’s cars money can buy, and let’s face it: You really don’t need a valid reason to drive an FR-S.
The differences between the Cayman and the 4C become quite apparent. The Cayman seems to be the better driver’s car, but the 4C is arguably the sexier of the two. Don’t forget to watch the video to find out which one comes on top. The 4C, Cayman and FR-S drifting in slow-motion alone makes the video totally worth it.
