Ken Block, the man who goes through tires faster than socks, is adding a new project to his garage: the Ford F-150 RaptorTrax.
Yes, all the chatter is about the 2015 F-150 and its new aluminum underpinnings. But what the latest F-150 doesn’t have is a pair of tracks in place of its wheels. Yes, that’s right. The Ken Block’s F-150 has tracks.
Block and his skunkworks racing team, Hoonigan Racing, call the F-150 RaptorTrax the “world’s fastest snowcat.” Although we don’t have a horsepower figure, it is powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre V8. Four Mattracks sit at each corner and Recaro seats keep you in place when you do responsible hoolingan things, like climb mountains and all that.
The F-150 RaptorTrax will debut next week at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until next winter to see this absurd piece of machinery. Judging by Ken Block’s Gymkhana series, any piece involving the RaptorTrax will be epic.
