According to a report from Car and Driver, the upcoming 2016 Audi TT RS will come only with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
We previously drove the new Audi TT in ‘S’ form with the dual-clutch transmission and loved it, but those who like shifting for themselves may be disappointed by the news.
Like the last generation – only available with a manual transmission in North America – the new TT RS will continue to feature a turbocharged 2.5L inline five-cylinder. The previous generation produced 360 horsepower, while the newest model should achieve around 400 horsepower.
We can expect the TT-RS to arrive in North America for the 2017 model year, where it will face off against a host of sports cars like the Chevy Corvette, Porsche Cayman and the upcoming BMW M2 that all offer manual transmissions.
