Alfa Romeo is aiming the Giulia squarely at BMW – and if its reported Nurburgring lap time is any indication, it’s going to be a bloodthirsty fight.
According to Italian website Blog di Motori (hat tip to Road and Track), the high-performance Giulia QV reportedly clocked a lap time of seven minutes and 43 seconds around the legendary Nurburgring, some nine seconds quicker than the BMW M4.
The keyword here is ‘reportedly’ – like most claimed lap times around the ‘Ring, this has yet to be verified. Still, nine seconds is an impressive gap. Blog di Motori also claims the Giulia QV’s 502 horsepower is underrated; apparently, it makes 530 horsepower, beating out stalwarts like the Audi RS 5, the Mercedes-AMG C63 and, yes, the BMW M3 and M4.
If Alfa Romeo confirms the lap time and updated horsepower figure, the Giulia is most definitely a force to be reckoned with in the high-po sports sedan world.
