The Essen Motor Show is actually a thing happening now in a little place called, well, Essen in western Germany. It’s often forgotten by the automotive world because it lacks the glamour of Frankfurt and happens after auto shows in L.A. and Tokyo, where huge reveals happen.
The annual Essen Motor Show is a more relaxed affair, but that doesn’t mean it’s not interesting. It can basically be called the SEMA show of Germany, focusing on the tuning and aftermarket scene, just the like L.A.’s annual SEMA show. Everything from supercars to mainstream models to concepts to one-off special projects to retro rides and tricked out tuners can be seen at Essen’s show.
The motor show presents motorcycles, cars and tuning parts from around 600 exhibiting companies from different countries. The Essen Motor Show runs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8.
