One item notably missing from the turbocharged Honda Civic‘s running gear is a manual transmission. That’s about to change for the 2017 model year.
According to a report from The Truth About Cars, Honda could offer a six-speed manual on Civics powered by the company’s new 1.5-litre turbo-four. Currently, turbo models are only available with a CVT.

Ditto for the recently announced Civic coupe – turbocharged models are exclusive to the CVT, while the base 2.0-litre four-cylinder is available with a six-speed manual. If these rumours hold true, both the sedan and coupe changes will see a stickshift next year.
The 2016 Civic sedan is already on sale, while the coupe hits dealers this coming March. Honda has yet to confirm if these changes are officially on the way for 2017.
