Can you help us identify this mystery car?

Most car junkies take pride in being able to tell a BMW 328i from an M3 from three blocks away. It’s a skill developed from years of reading car magazines and keeping an eye out for that one special unicorn car while driving. You might understand, then, my puzzlement when I stumbled upon this wrapped roadster (I think) on my way to work.

Whoever owns this car did an excellent job of protecting it from the winter elements, as not even a peek of a tire is visible. It’s also very small. It seems to be a little bit narrower than a Miata. The long hood and short roof proportions tell me that it’s almost certainly some kind of convertible. You can almost see what looks like ridges in the folding top.

The knee-jerk reaction is to assume it’s a Miata. It’s a fairly common car and it’s about the same size as our mystery car here, but the shape doesn’t seem to line up. The only thing I know for sure is that it’s definitely some kind of compact two-seater convertible. What do you think? RX-7 convertible? Alfa Romeo Spider, perhaps? Vote in the poll or let us know in the comments below. I’ll follow up with the owner later this week and reveal the answer.
