Just to ensure the Macan isn’t hogging all of the attention, Porsche has released a limited edition of the larger Cayenne.
Contrary to what its name would suggest, the Cayenne Platinum Edition isn’t finished in the 78th element listed on the Periodic Table. Rather, the Platinum Edition brings a handful of standard equipment to the gasoline and diesel six-cylinder Cayenne, including bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, GPS navigation and Porsche’s Power Steering Plus and Park Assist systems. In addition to all that, you get a handful of trim bits outside finished in Platinum Silver Metallic.

The Cayenne Platinum Edition comes with a two-tone interior.
Handout, Porsche
Inside, the Cayenne Platinum Edition is finished with a two-tone leather interior, Porsche’s SportDesign steering wheel and a set of door sills that read “Platinum Edition”. This particular edition also comes standard with Porsche’s anti-dazzle interior mirrors that do exactly that — eliminate dazzle at night from headlights behind the car.
The Cayenne Platinum Edition comes in gasoline and diesel flavours. The six-cylinder Cayenne pumps out 300 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque from its 3.6-litre V6, while the Cayenne Diesel’s 3.0-litre turbo-diesel is rated at 245 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.
