Volvo‘s Concept Estate, the latest in the Swedish automaker’s trio of well-received concepts, could make it into production in the near future as a luxurious and upmarket wagon.
A new report out of Autobild (hat tip to AutoGuide for an English version) suggests Volvo will build the Concept Estate as the V90, a new wagon pegged as a replacement for the V70. The V90 will be more luxurious compared to the V70, a model discontinued in North America but sold elsewhere.
As for powertrains, it is suggested base V90 models will sport a four-cylinder engine, while range-topping models will see some sort of hybrid powertrain. We can also expect the V90 to be more practical than the Concept Estate, however it will probably adopt a modern interior along the lines of the one seen in the concept car.
In addition to the Concept Estate, the Volvo Concept Coupe is still slated to eventually become the C90, a replacement to the C70. There is also an S90 on the horizon, meant as a replacement for the aging S80 luxury sedan.
